Despite the way it may seem, the stock market has actually been range-bound over the past few weeks. There are reasons to think that it will breakout of this new range to the upside (like continued good news from the chip group). However, a lot also depends on whether China backs off its stance on the rare-earth metals issue…and we’re not seeing/hearing a lot from China which tells us that this will indeed take place.
